Drinas

Welcome to Drinas

Drinas is an Albanian village on the Dukagjin plateau (pronounced as: “duke-a-gin”, named by Duke (Duka) Gin (Gjin)). The village is only two miles from city Gjakovë, but can only be reached by an asphalted road of eight miles around. If you travel by road from Gjakovë (Jack-owe) to Prizren, just after you cross The Saint Bridge you turn left, drive up a small hill and then drive a few kilometres further, straight on.

During the Serbian occupation of the Albanian province Dukagjin, Drinas was called Ratkoc, named by a Serbian warlord called Ratko.
